Charlie has been with us since June 2017, we started out fostering him and after 4 months we fell in love with him and couldn’t see him go. Before we fostered him he was with Jeannie at Paw It Forward pulled from Regional Animal Shelter through their training rehabilitation program because he was very fearful of pretty much anything. Since we have had him we have continued to do the core work with him regularly. I have experienced him becoming spooked by something he is unsure of while we have had him and if we take the core exercises we have been shown and have him move his energy with us around these things instead of being fearful, we have noticed that he pays much less attention to them and focuses on us instead. We go for walks often and he carries his toy and there is nothing that throws him off while out. In the house he is very stationary either in his crate or on a place/bed and he now seeks it out when he comes inside. The training has helped him in our home tremendously because both in and out of our home he is now able to function without being spooked. He remains calm in our house and can comfortably live with the cats and our other dogs and is great with our niece when she comes over. If Charlie had not been able to be pulled into the Rehab program at the Canine Stability Center to work on the NDT way I don’t think he would be as well balanced as he is, he wouldn’t be able to cope with the daily things that go on in a home day to day.
